Where will my C&P exam be in North Dakota?
Many exams happen at the Fargo VA Medical Center on Elm Street, at a VA clinic closer to home, or with a VA-contracted examiner. North Dakota has VA clinics in Bismarck, Grand Forks, Minot, Dickinson, Williston, Jamestown, Devils Lake and Grafton. Your exam notice lists the location, and some exams can be done by telehealth.
Is there free VA claim help in North Dakota?
Yes. Every North Dakota county has a Veterans Service Officer, Tribal Veterans Service Officers serve tribal nations, and the North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs and accredited VSOs like the American Legion, DAV and VFW help veterans file at no cost. Our free case review can help you decide which route fits your situation.
My VA claim was denied. What should I do?
Read your decision letter to see why it was denied, then choose a review option: a Supplemental Claim if you have new evidence, a Higher-Level Review if you think there was an error, or a Board Appeal. Higher-Level Reviews and Board Appeals must be filed within one year of the decision date.
Do you only help veterans in Fargo?
No. We work with veterans across North Dakota, including Bismarck, Grand Forks, Minot, Jamestown, Dickinson, Williston and tribal communities, entirely by phone and video.
How long does a VA disability claim take in North Dakota?
The VA posts current average processing times on VA.gov. Because claims are worked nationally, North Dakota veterans see the same timelines as everyone else. Submitting a complete claim with your evidence up front is the most reliable way to avoid delays.
How does the VA calculate a combined disability rating?
The VA uses a "whole person" method: each rating is applied to the remaining non-disabled portion, highest first, then rounded to the nearest 10%. For example, 50% and 30% combine to 65%, which rounds to 70%. Try our free VA disability calculator.
Are you affiliated with the VA?
No. We are a private company and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Fargo VA Health Care System, the North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs, or any government agency. You can always file for free at VA.gov.
